Fightdentist™ Boil-n-Mold Pro Guards are suitable for athletes participating in all contact sports. SportShield Technology™ out lasts and out performs traditional EVA guards in both protection and durability. Fightdentist™ Boil-n-Mold Pro Guards provide athletes the closest fit to a custom athletic dental guard available in the market today.
The Fightdentist™ Impact Defense System™ is an exclusive blend of SportShield Technology™ and EVA materials that provide athletes a custom fit at a fraction of the cost over made-to-order athletic dental guards. Fightdentist™ guards provide up to three times the protection of other guards and five times the durability. With a density of up to 4mm in thickness, Fightdentist™ mouth guards provide dentist recommended protection.
Many athletes experience "the drop" with boil and bite guards. The Fightdentist™ SportShield Technology™ and double injection molding allows the guard to mold above the gum line preventing the guard from falling out of the athlete's mouth when breathing or speaking. The Fightdentist™ Impact Defense System™ provides added protection to sensitive gums, lips and facial tissues susceptible to injury during orafacial trauma. Fightdentist™ unique molding process using SportShield Technology™ will not only engage the upper dentition snuggly, but also imprint the teeth of the lower jaw offering ample protection, comfort and fit assuring that the upper and lower jaws are securely positioned in the guard [Figure 1].
Why is fit so important?
Many facial accidents occur when athletes do not wear a mouth guard or wear an ill-fitting guard. Often athletes end up with broken teeth to the complete loss of the tooth or several teeth requiring expensive alternatives to replace or repair. When an athlete trains or competes with an ill-fitted guard, the guard will move in and out of their mouth. A split second hit to the athlete with an ill-fitting guard may also result in other orafacial injuries such as lacerated gums, lips and facial tissues. These injuries many times can be eliminated, or at the very least minimized, if proper fitting and good quality mouth protection is worn.
What is the key element to orafacial protection?
The jaw feels at rest when persons teeth rest on the guard and the muscles of the jaw are relaxed and not stressed. With the jaw at rest any impact to the jaw area will prevent the lower jaw from being pushed backwards into the base of the skull [Figure 2].
The Fightdentist™ Boil-n-Mold Pro Guard is ergonomically shaped allowing the teeth to feel naturally positioned and at the same time, allows the jaw to relax in a rested position. Constructed with up to 4mm thickness, the guard prevents teeth from being hit and breakage throughout weak points along the surface of the teeth. The Fightdentist™ Impact Defense System™ offers added protection to the lips, tongue and facial tissues from direct impact of the teeth.
